Update ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT when replaced or when new items are purchased by supplying us with the make, model, serial number and replacement value. It is advisable to revise the replacement value regularly to ensure you are not over or under insured. Contact us if you need to confirm your current cover or study a recent policy schedule received from us to ensure you are properly covered, if in doubt contact us.
Insurance will not cover you for maintenance or gradual deterioration of your building or for burglaries if your alarm is not in a working condition and armed. If you do betterments to your property, please advise us as the Insurer will not pay out claims if the building regulations or gas/electric installations etc. were not adhered to. For instance, advise us if you install Solar geysers or Solar panels or if you build retaining walls or change your roof, the Insurer may require an Engineer’s report and the property value may increase.
If insured with OMART Insure and you purchase a second-hand vehicle, remember that it is a requirement to take the vehicle for an inspection to PG Glass or Glasfit within 7 days of the purchase of the vehicle IF YOU CANNOT PROVIDE US WITH FINAL TAX INVOICE FROM DEALER. If this is not possible over the Christmas season, please provide us with pictures on all sides of the vehicle as well as the license disc and the windscreen, back window as well as side windows, send to our WhatsApp nr: 079 500 3855 or e-mail to: a@erer.co.za. Not applicable when you buy a brand-new vehicle except for demo models. If the Insurer does not receive the inspection certificate within 7 days the cover will be changed to balance of third party, fire and theft, and if a claim is registered within 7 days an excess of R10,000 will be applicable and no windscreen claims will be entertained until the inspection certificate is received. When you buy a new vehicle, ask the Dealer to provide you with the Offer to Purchase / Purchase Invoice as most of the information we need to add the vehicle to your Insurance will reflect on these documents. Please contact us at least 2 days before you take ownership to enable us to get additional information needed and to add the vehicle to your policy in time, preventing delays when you do the pickup. If it’s a private sale with no dealer involved please ensure you send the year, make and full model + M&M Code. We cannot add a vehicle with NATIS / registration document only, as it does not contain the full model / description of vehicle.
